'Rs 11 IV sold for Rs 325': Maharashtra FDA chief Tukaram Mundhe flags huge markup on medical products

Maharashtra FDA commissioner Tukaram Mundhe flags exorbitant MRP on IV sets, syringes and catheters after a state survey. He urges NPPA to cap trade-to-MRP gaps and bring medical consumables under stricter pricing rules.

He has written to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), asking to create a structural pricing for essential medicines.
