Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has flagged large differences between the procurement prices and maximum retail prices (MRPs) of commonly used hospital consumables, with markups reaching as high as 2,841 per cent in some cases.
Mundhe has sought a review of the findings and appropriate regulatory action from the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), according to a report by Mint.
