EPFO wage ceiling raised to Rs 25,000 to cover 51 lakh more workers
The Centre has raised the EPFO wage ceiling from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000, extending social security to 51 lakh more employees. The move, effective September 2026, will boost provident fund, pension and insurance coverage under EPFO schemes.
According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, nearly 51 lakh employees would benefit from the increase in the coverage ceiling.
