Nurse critical after husband rides 400 km to attack her in Bengaluru hospital
The accused allegedly attacked his estranged wife with sharp weapons and a liquid suspected to be acid at the hospital's parking lot.
A nurse was critically injured after her estranged husband allegedly attacked her with sharp weapons and threw a liquid suspected to be acid at her in the basement parking area of a Bengaluru hospital Thursday morning.
Madhumitha, a native of West Bengal, works as a nurse at Narayana Hospital in JP Nagar. She was admitted to the same hospital following the attack.
K Vamsi Krishna, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said the incident took place between 9 am and 9.15 am. The police said Madhumitha and the accused, Venkatesh, a native of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, married in 2024. The couple had been living separately for about a year following marital and family disputes.
