Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have intensified consultations to operationalise the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, with technical teams from the three countries working on the framework, mechanisms and terms of reference required to make the pact fully functional, according to top Turkish security sources speaking exclusively to CNN-News18.
The latest discussions are focused on determining how the agreement will work in practice, including its institutional structure, coordination mechanisms and the responsibilities of the three signatories. Sources said technical-level meetings are being held and further consultations are expected in the coming weeks, with the next technical committee meeting likely to be held in Pakistan in October.
