Mecca Pact Will Be Activated If Saudi Arabia Faces Aggression: Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif

Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said the recently signed Mecca Joint Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye could be activated if the Kingdom faces further aggression, as attacks linked to the escalating Yemen conflict raise fresh questions over the pact’s mutual-defence commitments.
Speaking to a news channel, Asif said the agreement lays down a “very clear-cut position" that an attack on the territorial integrity or borders of one member would trigger obligations for the other two.
