Karnataka MLA's Niece Got Rs 70,000 Monthly Salary Without Ever Going To Work

Dr Ankita was allegedly absent from the clinic from March 3 onwards, leaving the facility without a medical officer and causing inconvenience to patients.
A medical officer at a Namma Clinic in Karnataka’s Bagalkot is facing an inquiry over allegations that she drew a monthly salary of Rs 75,000 while simultaneously pursuing a postgraduate medical course at a private college.
Dr Ankita R Yaragal, the niece of Bagalkot MLA Umesh Meti and daughter of District Health Officer Dr Rajkumar Yaragal, has been accused of remaining absent from the Namma Clinic at Wambe Colony while continuing to receive her salary. She was appointed as a medical officer at the clinic on a contractual basis in April 2025.
