‘Chennai Shouldn't Alienate Delhi & Vice-Versa’: SC On Tamil Nadu Vs Centre Over Navodaya Schools

The Supreme Court had directed Tamil Nadu in December 2025 to identify land required for establishing Navodaya Vidyalayas in every district.
The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Tamil Nadu government to comply with its December 15, 2025 order to identify suitable land in every district for establishing Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), while urging the state and Centre to resolve their differences through dialogue.
A bench of Justice BV Nagarathna and Justice Augustine George Masih granted Tamil Nadu three more months to identify the land. It also directed representatives of the state and Central governments to hold further discussions on the policy, LiveLaw reported.
