Jos Buttler Overtakes Rohit Sharma To Become 2nd Highest Run-Scorer In T20Is
Buttler has 4292 runs to his name in 161 T20Is for England whereas Rohit finished his T20I career with 4231 runs in 159 matches for India.
Jos Buttler opened the innings for England in the first T20I against Sri Lanka on Tuesday (September 15) and scored 80 runs from 44 balls to help the hosts post a big total of 254/4 in 20 overs. The former England captain added 128 runs off 60 balls for the second wicket with current skipper Harry Brook, who remained unbeaten on 114 off 49 balls.
Buttler’s knock of 80 runs in the first T20I helped him extend his tally of runs to 4,292 in T20Is. He has now gone past Rohit Sharma’s tally of 4,231 runs to become the second-highest run-scorer in the shortest format of the game.
