UP woman jumps into Ganga after husband refuses treatment money, rescued 40 km away
After a dispute with her husband over treatment expenses, a Mirzapur woman jumped into the Ganga and was rescued in Chunar the next morning. Police said she is safe, while her family and officers are piecing together the events behind the incident.
A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur was rescued around 12 hours after she jumped into the Ganga following a dispute with her husband over money for her medical treatment.
Boatmen rescued Sunita Devi in Chunar, around 40 kilometres downstream from Shastri Bridge, where she had jumped into the river.
