Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 76 on Thursday and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark his 25 years of public service. The campaign, running from September 17 to October 17, will feature blood donation camps, exhibitions, seminars and public outreach programmes across the country.
PM Modi’s public-office journey began when he became Gujarat chief minister in October 2001 and later took charge as prime minister in 2014. Over these years, his governments at the Centre have launched or substantially expanded a number of large welfare, infrastructure, financial-inclusion and digital programmes.
