MP Deputy CM Shukla donates blood in Rewa on Modi’s birthday, urges citizens to join drive

Rewa, Sep 17 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla on Thursday donated blood at a voluntary camp organised in Rewa to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, and urged healthy and eligible citizens to join the life-saving cause.

The blood donation camp was organised at the Krishna Raj Kapoor Auditorium under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a month-long nationwide campaign (September 17 to October 17) launched by the ruling BJP to mark Modi’s 25 years in public service. Shukla inaugurated the drive by donating blood.

The BJP leader said blood donation camps were being organised across the country on the occasion of Modi’s birthday.

“Blood donation is a great act of charity and an important way of serving suffering humanity. Blood is required for treating people injured in accidents and patients suffering from serious illnesses,” he stated.

He urged healthy and eligible citizens to donate blood and contribute in saving the lives of those in need.

Shukla maintained that healthy people aged 18 to 65 years who meet the eligibility criteria can donate blood after a medical examination.

The Deputy Chief Minister said he felt “inner happiness” after donating blood and urged citizens to participate in the service initiative.

Rewa divisional commissioner Shailendra Singh, officials, employees and representatives of social organisations also donated blood at the camp.

Eligible and willing citizens can donate blood at camps being organised at community health centres in Mangawan, Jawa, Sirmour, Semaria, Gangew and Govindgarh towns in Rewa district and at the Civil Hospital in Teonthar, officials said. PTI LAL RSY
