NSUI holds ‘Taali-Thali March’ to Jantar Mantar ahead of DUSU polls
New Delhi, Sep 17 (PTI) The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Thursday held a ‘Taali-Thali March’ from its headquarters at Raisina Road to Jantar Mantar, raising issues concerning students and the Delhi University community.
The march, led by NSUI national president Vinod Jakhar, began at 2 pm from the organisation’s headquarters at 5 Raisina Road, according to NSUI.
“The march is being held to highlight demands like hostels for Delhi University students and action against nationwide paper leaks,” a member said.
The march was held a day ahead of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, scheduled for Friday.
NSUI is among the major student organisations contesting the elections, along with the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the AISA-SFI Left alliance.
Voting for day classes will be held from 8.30 am to 1 pm, while polling for evening classes will take place from 3 pm to 7.30 pm.
