Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday condemned what Saudi Arabia described as an attempted drone attack near the holy city of Mecca, calling it “dastardly and heinous".

Sharif did not name Yemen’s Houthis in his statement, even as Saudi authorities have blamed the Iran-aligned group for the incident. The Houthis, however, have denied targeting Mecca.
