Jharkhand BJP celebrates birthday of PM Modi, holds blood donation camp
Ranchi, Sep 17 (PTI) Jharkhand BJP president Aditya Sahu on Thursday said the party was organising several programmes across the state to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
A blood donation camp was organised at the BJP headquarters here in the morning by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, while an ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme will be held in the evening, Sahu said.
Under the programme, earthen lamps will be lit at households, particularly those of beneficiaries of government schemes, he said.
Sahu said the celebrations will continue for a month till October 17 as part of a nationwide programme marking Modi’s 25 years in public life.
“It is a historic moment for the country. People are celebrating Vishwakarma Puja along with the birthday of Modi. A blood donation camp was organised today, which will continue for the next three days in different parts of the state,” Sahu told reporters after inaugurating the camp.
He said people across the country will light a ‘diya’ at their doorsteps, praying for the long and healthy life of Modi.
Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi said Modi is completing 25 years in public life, including 13 years as the chief minister of Gujarat and 12 years as the prime minister.
“He has done several impossible tasks during his regime as the PM, including abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and prohibition of ‘triple talaq’. Modi also eradicated terrorism and left-wing extremism from the country,” Marandi said.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth distributed 1,391 assistive devices worth around Rs 38 lakh among persons with disabilities at a programme organised here by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to mark Modi’s birthday. PTI SAN SAN MNB
