Market Close: Sensex, Nifty Close Almost Flat After Volatile Trade; Broader Markets Outperform
The Sensex ends at 74,314.59, down 21.86 points or 0.03%, against its previous close of 74,336.45, while the Nifty ends at 23,270.60, up 53 points or 0.23%,
The domestic equity markets ended mixed on Thursday, with the Nifty closing higher while the Sensex finished marginally lower, as gains in auto, pharma, metal and broader market stocks were offset by weakness in banking and select heavyweight shares.
The Sensex ended at 74,314.59, down 21.86 points or 0.03%, against its previous close of 74,336.45. The index opened at 74,182.62 and touched an intraday high of 74,677.56 before slipping towards the close. The day’s low was 74,163.95.
