CM Manik Saha attends special prayer at Tripura Sundari temple on PM’s birthday
Agartala, Sep 17 (PTI) A special prayer was held at the Tripura Sundari temple in Gomati district on Thursday for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday, as the BJP-led government in Tripura organised a series of programmes to mark the occasion.
Chief Minister Manik Saha, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and BJP state president Abhishek Debroy attended the prayer at the temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
Saha also inaugurated a mega blood donation camp at Pragya Bhavan and visited a government-run orphanage in Abhoynagar as part of the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
Saha said donating blood was among the greatest forms of service to society and appealed to people to participate in voluntary blood donation.
“We have a duty towards the society where we are born and where we grow up. No other donation is greater than blood donation as it saves a lot of lives,” he said.
The chief minister also called for greater awareness about voluntary blood donation and social service for the development of society while remaining in alignment with nature.
“We can show our real respect to the honourable prime minister by taking active part in social service,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Debbarma also wished Modi on his birthday.
“May the blessings of Ma Tripura Sundari, the revered deity of our land, always be with him. May Ma bless him with good health, strength, wisdom and a long life,” he said in a social media post. PTI PS SOM
