MS Subbulakshmi biopic announced on 110th birth anniversary. Rashmika Mandanna will play her

The announcement will be made at The Music Academy in Chennai on the occasion of Subbulakshmi’s 110th birth anniversary, with Kamal Haasan as the special guest.

New Delhi: Rashmika Mandanna is set to play MS Subbulakshmi in her upcoming biopic. She was the first musician to receive the Bharat Ratna and the first Indian musician to receive the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1974.

The biopic will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who has previously directed Jersey (2019) and Kingdom (2025). The film’s music will be given by composer Anirudh Ravichander. The announcement will be made at The Music Academy in Chennai on the occasion of Subbulakshmi’s 110th birth anniversary, with Kamal Haasan as the special guest.

The launch event was announced by the co-producer of the film, Geetha Arts, on social media.
