Bengal CM greets PM on his birthday, says country moving forward on path of development
Kolkata, Sep 17 (PTI) West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, and expressed hope that India would become more prosperous under his leadership.
The BJP government in the state will also hold a series of programmes on the occasion.
Adhikari, in a social media post, said that under Modi’s leadership, India was moving forward on the path of development.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I extend my heartfelt birthday greetings and congratulations to you,” Adhikari said.
“Under your relentless dedication and visionary leadership, our country is moving forward with firm strides on the path of development, progress, and glory,” the chief minister stated in the post.
“I pray to the Almighty God for your good health and long life. May India become even more prosperous and strong under your able leadership,” Adhikari said.
The West Bengal government is celebrating the Annapurna Divas on this day, transferring the BJP government-introduced Annapurna Yojana benefits of Rs 3,000 each to 1.58 crore women in the state.
Diyas or clay lamps would be lit across the state to mark the occasion. The main programme would be held on the banks of the Hooghly River, where Adhikari would be present at a function in which 1 lakh diyas would be lit. PTI AMR ACD
