US Warns Citizens Against Travel To Saudi Arabia As Houthi Attacks Escalate, Drone Downed Near Mecca

US cited several factors for advisory, including possibility of Iranian missile, drone strikes, armed conflict, terrorism, exit bans and Saudi laws governing social media activity.
The United States has asked its citizens to reconsider travel to Saudi Arabia, raising the country’s travel advisory to Level 3, citing risks linked to armed conflict, terrorism and possible Iranian drone and missile attacks targeting US interests.
The updated advisory, issued by the US State Department on September 15, comes amid a fresh escalation involving Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi rebels and Saudi Arabia. The department also warned that some parts of the kingdom face greater security risks.
