Maharashtra FDA Suspends Nair Hospital Canteen, Olympia Coffee House Licences

Maharashtra FDA suspended the licences of Nair Hospital canteen and Olympia Coffee House in Mumbai after finding serious food safety and hygiene violations.

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the food licences of the canteen at BMC-run Nair Hospital in Mumbai Central and the well-known Olympia Coffee House in Colaba over violations of food safety and hygiene standards.

The action against both establishments was taken on September 16, 2026. While the Nair Hospital canteen was found to have serious food safety and hygiene violations during an inspection, the action against Olympia Coffee House followed a consumer complaint received under the “Safe Food Safe Maharashtra" campaign.
