Hyderabad: S. Meenakshi Natarajan, the AICC in-charge for Telangana affairs, is likely to travel abroad to pursue higher education. According to reports, she is expected to take a 10-month leave from the party.

Following this, the Congress high command is likely to appoint a new in-charge for Telangana. According to the reports, Mukul Wasnik, Shaktisinh Gohil and Ashok Gehlot are among the leaders being considered for the post.

The Congress high command appointed Natarajan as the AICC in-charge for Telangana affairs on February 14, 2025, replacing Deepa Dasmunsi. She had earlier played a key role in the party’s Telangana strategy and served as an AICC observer during the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections.

In 2009, Natarajan was chosen by the Congress leadership to contest the Lok Sabha election from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, where she won by a margin of more than 30,000 votes.

Natarajan is considered an important member of the AICC leadership team and is known to be closely associated with Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
