Ganpati Festival: Mumbai witnesses a massive crowd of devotees at Lalbaugcha Raja

Explorer Mumbai is witnessing a massive turnout of devotees for the Ganesh festival, with huge crowds gathering at the famous Lalbaugcha Raja pandal. Devotees from across the country and abroad are arriving to seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings, with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” echoing across the city. Darshan began at 5 AM, and more than three lakh devotees had reportedly visited the pandal. Lalbaugcha Raja is specially decorated this year with a structure inspired by the entrance of South India’s Meenakshi Temple, while the overall decoration is linked to Lord Shiva. The pandal has also introduced more than 16 AI cameras for crowd management and security, including facial scanning and monitoring of suspicious activity. Over 10,000 police personnel have been deployed. Uddhav Thackeray and his family are scheduled to visit at 1:30 PM, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Deputy Chief Ministers are expected around 3 PM. Bollywood celebrities, including Kartik Aaryan, Shah Rukh Khan and Shilpa Shetty, are also among the stars who regularly visit Lalbaugcha Raja. The 11-day festival is witnessing an atmosphere of immense faith and celebration across Mumbai.
