DMDK seeks action over death of pregnant woman, infant near Kancheepuram

DMDK general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant has urged the Tamil Nadu government to take immediate legal action against those responsible for the death of a pregnant woman and her infant from an Irular settlement near Kancheepuram.In a statement, she said Thenmozhi, from the Singadivakkam Irular colony, had developed labour pain while living in a thatched shelter and was allegedly prevented from going to hospital over a ₹20,000 debt owed to a local trader.The party condemned the alleged inhuman act and sought strict action against those responsible.
