The car allegedly hit the motorcycle and then fled the sceneGURGAON: A woman biker alleged that a car repeatedly followed her before hitting her motorcycle and fleeing from the spot in Gurgaon.The incident, which was captured on a camera mounted on her bike, was shared on Instagram by the rider, who identified herself as Sia and appealed to Gurgaon Police to take action.Sia said the incident took place on Sunday while she was riding with friends from Golf Course Road towards Bikerburns. According to her, the occupants of a car began following her soon after she started her ride and behaved aggressively.In a video shared on Instagram, Sia alleged that the car driver made gestures towards her and asked her to stop the bike.She said she asked him to maintain some distance but continued riding ahead after she felt the situation was unsafe. She also alleged that the occupants appeared to be drunk.Sia said she tried to stay ahead of the car to prevent it from blocking her motorcycle, while a friend riding behind her attempted to keep the vehicle from coming alongside her.According to the video she shared, the car continued following her before it eventually hit her motorcycle.The footage shared by the biker appears to show the car coming into contact with the motorcycle, following which the car drives away from the spot.Sia said one of her friends immediately followed the car after the collision and managed to confront the driver at a traffic signal.According to her, the friend asked the driver to stop and told him that the collision was his fault.The driver allegedly denied responsibility before driving away from the signal.Sia said she has shared details of the vehicle, including its registration number, in the caption of her Instagram post and urged people to help spread the video so that the driver can be identified and held accountable.In her video, Sia appealed to Gurgaon Police to investigate the incident and take action against the driver."Today, a car driver hit me and ran away from there," she said, while describing the alleged pursuit before the collision.She also urged authorities to pay greater attention to the safety of bikers and other vulnerable road users in Gurgaon.A police spokesperson, Sandeep Turan said, "We have not received a complaint from the victim, however, we have tried to contact her. As soon as we receive a complaint we will register an FIR and an investigation will be undertaken."Gurgaon Police has taken suo motu cognizance of the viral video and is registering an FIR in the matter."The accused will be identified and will be arrested at the earliest, and strictest legal action will be taken against all those found involved," police said.Gurgaon Police maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards road-rage, reckless behaviour, and any form of unlawful conduct on the roads.
