Sri Chaitanya School Recognition Cancelled In Singarayakonda

The recognition of Sri Chaitanya Primary and Upper Primary School at Moolaguntapadu in Singarayakonda mandal has been cancelled with immediate effect following the death of a Class VI student and, subsequently, his mother, according to Prakasam district education officer (DEO) C.V. Renuka.

The DEO said the mother of the Class VI student, Syed Taufiq, who died under suspicious circumstances at the school’s Navodaya Coaching Centre on February 14, 2026, allegedly attempted suicide by consuming pesticide on September 10. She was initially treated at a hospital in Ongole and later shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment, where she died on September 12.

The school management had approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court through W.P. No. 8899/2026, following which the court directed it to submit its objections to the district education officer. The DEO was asked to conduct a hearing and issue appropriate orders.

Subsequently, the school management submitted its objections. An inquiry was conducted by the deputy education officer, Kandukur, and the mandal education officer, Singarayakonda, and their report was examined.

Based on the report and keeping in view the welfare and safety of the students currently studying at the school, the DEO said the recognition of Sri Chaitanya Primary and Upper Primary School, Moolaguntapadu, Singarayakonda, had been cancelled with immediate effect. The orders were issued following the directions of the Prakasam district collector, she added.
