Final Polling Station Lists Released for 59 AP Urban Local Bodies

Vijayawada:The State Election Commission has published the final lists of polling stations for the forthcoming ordinary elections to 59 Urban Local Bodies, comprising 58 municipalities/nagar panchayats and the Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation.

The commission had issued circulars on Sept 7 directing the respective municipal commissioners and the commissioner of Vizianagaram municipal corporation to identify polling stations and publish the draft lists. The draft lists were subsequently published on Sept 10 as per the election schedule.

Following publication of the draft lists, meetings were held with political parties; and objections and suggestions received from the general public were considered. After completing the process, the final lists of polling stations were published on Sunday, Sept 13, across all the 59 ULBs.

The ULBs are the Addanki, Adoni, Akiveedu, Allagadda, Amalapuram, Atmakur (Nandyal), Atmakur (Nellore), Bethamcherla, Bobbili, Buchireddypalem, Chimakurthy, Dachepalli, Darsi, Dhone, Giddalur, Gollaprolu, Gooty, Guntakal, Gurazala, Hindupur, Ichapuram, Jangareddygudem, Kalyandurgam, Kanigiri, Kondapalli, Kovvur, Kuppam, Gudur (Kurnool), Madakasira and Madanapalle.

The list also covers Mandapeta, Mummidivaram, Mydukur, Naidupeta, Nandigama, Nandikotkur, Narsapuram, Nellimarla, Nidadavole, Nuzvid, Palakonda, Palasa-Kasibugga, Peddapuram, Penukonda, Piduguralla, Punganur, Rajampeta, Repalle, Samalkota, Sullurpet, Tenali, Tiruvuru, Tuni, Venkatagiri, Vuyyuru, Yelamanchili, Yeleswaram, Yemmiganur and the Vizianagaram municipal corporation.

State election commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha said the final publication followed the prescribed consultation process with political parties and the disposal of public objections and suggestions.
