Andhra Pradesh: Vijayawada To Host Grand Dasara Festivities

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada will host Sri Devi Sarannavaratri Dasara festivities from October 11 to 20 at the Siddhartha Hotel Management College grounds in Moghalrajpuram, with Sata Chandi Homam and Rudrabhishekam as major attractions.

The festivities are being organised by the Sri Devi Sarannavaratri Mahotsava Committee under the aegis of Vishwa Mata Foundation. Committee chairman C.A. Sunkara Akkayya Naidu said Vijayawada had earned a special identity across the country for its Dasara celebrations and the committee was organising spiritual programmes to enhance the city’s prominence.

The celebrations will include Sata Chandi Homam, Santi Kalyanam, Kumkumarchana, mass recitation of Lalitha Sahasranamam and Dasavidha Harathis. General secretary Dr Vaitla Krishna Prasanna said special arrangements were being made to enable devotees to participate in major rituals such as Chandi Homam and Kumkumarchana.

Vice-chairmen Tondepu Venkata Hanumantha Rao and Ch. Suresh Kumar, treasurer Tondepu Prasad Gupta and other office-bearers attended.
