Karnataka Government to celebrate Engineers’ Day officially from next year
BENGALURU: Karnataka will officially celebrate Engineers’ Day from the next year to recognise their contributions to the state’s development, Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters after paying floral tribute to Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya at KR Circle on Engineers’ Day, Shivakumar said he has approved a proposal to organise the celebrations by the government.
“More than one lakh engineers are being produced in Karnataka every year. India has a large pool of engineering talent, and it is our responsibility to recognise their contribution,” he said. He added that the format and other details would be finalised after discussions with officials.
