Work begins on India-assisted hospital upgrading project in Sri Lanka
Colombo, Sep 16 (PTI) Construction work on an India-assisted project to upgrade a government hospital commenced on Wednesday in Sri Lanka’s Mannar in the presence of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha.
The Accident and Emergency Unit, being constructed for LKR 600 million with a grant from the Indian government, will be equipped with modern facilities and expand healthcare services for the people of Mannar, a press release issued by the President’s Office said.
The treatment complex at Mannar General Hospital will include fully equipped treatment facilities, intensive care, and emergency and accident treatment facilities.
