Pune woman accuses parents of assault, snatching Japan visa over friendship row
Police are investigating the allegations, including why the passport and Japan-related documents were confiscated by the parents.
A 22-year-old woman filed a complaint at the Talegaon Dabhade police station on Saturday, alleging that her parents assaulted and took away her passport, visa and Japanese residence card following a dispute over her friendship with a male acquaintance, police said on Tuesday.
The woman, who completed her education in Japan and secured a job there, was in Pune visiting her parents, who, she alleged, also locked her out of their house in Tukaram Nagar.
