Karnataka Cabinet to take up ‘Karavali Malnad Tourism Policy 2026’ on Sep 18: Minister
Bengaluru, Sep 17 (PTI) The Karnataka Cabinet will consider the proposed ‘Karavali Malnad Karnataka Tourism Policy 2026’ at its meeting in Mangaluru on September 18, Tourism Minister K J George said on Thursday.
The policy seeks to provide a dedicated framework for tourism development across the coastal and Malnad (Western Ghats or hilly) regions, taking into account their distinct geography, ecology, culture and economic potential, he said.
According to George, the coastal and Malnad belt offers significant opportunities in beach and river tourism, Western Ghats, heritage, religious and cultural tourism, and nature-based experiences.
