Woman travelling in e-rickshaw sets herself on fire after lover cuts contact; dies
A woman died after setting herself on fire inside an e-rickshaw in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar. Police later arrested the driver and another man after CCTV footage helped trace the events and the relationship angle.
A woman in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar died after setting herself on fire inside an e-rickshaw on August 15, with police investigation indicating that she was upset over her relationship with the e-rickshaw driver. The woman suffered severe burn injuries and died during treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh four days later.
Police have now arrested two people in connection with the case after examining CCTV footage of the incident.
