Delhi HC to hear plea alleging violation of Lyngdoh Committee guidelines in DUSU polls
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court is likely to hear on Wednesday a petition alleging that political parties have fielded their candidates for various posts in the upcoming Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, in violation of Lyngdoh Committee guidelines.
The petition was mentioned before a bench of Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia on Tuesday for an urgent hearing. The Bench said the petition will be listed on Wednesday.
In the petition, a varsity student has challenged the September 11 and August 13 notices by the Chief Election Officer announcing the DUSU polls and shortlisting the names of the contesting candidates.
