Bhagwant Mann Says Canal Water Now Reaches 80% of Punjab’s Fields, Pledges To Take It to 100%
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state government's initiatives on irrigation, free electricity, employment, education and healthcare.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has said that canal water is now reaching 80 per cent of the state’s fields, compared with around 22 per cent when the his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government came to power in 2022. He said his government would work to extend canal-water coverage to 100 per cent of Punjab’s fields.
Mann made the remarks while addressing a Lok Milni programme at Jindwari village in Sri Anandpur Sahib. He said the government has laid around 14,000 kilometres of pipelines to carry canal water to agricultural fields.
