Man seeks police help, allowed to stay at Ahmedabad station, dies by suicide
A man who sought police help over alleged harassment was found dead inside Ahmedabad's Shaherkotda police station. Investigators are now tracing the alleged harasser and examining the circumstances leading to his death.
A 39-year-old man who approached police for help over alleged harassment was found dead inside a police station in Ahmedabad hours after he was allowed to stay on the premises, officials said.
The incident took place at the Shaherkotda police station after Raju Jatav, originally from Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, approached police early on September 14. He had been working as a labourer in Jamnagar but had recently lost his job and was trying to return to his native village.
