CGST Superintendent, mediator held in ₹8 lakh bribe trap
Bengaluru police arrest Central GST superintendent and mediator for allegedly accepting an ₹8 lakh bribe to resolve a complaint.
A Central GST (CGST) Superintendent and a private individual were arrested by the Bengaluru City Lokayukta police on Thursday for allegedly demanding and accepting a ₹8-lakh bribe to close a complaint pending against a city-based businessman.
The accused public servant has been identified as Mohit Pratap Singh, Superintendent, CGST, South Division-4, South Commissionerate. The second accused, Salman Sheikh, is a private individual who allegedly acted as a mediator in the transaction.
According to the Lokayukta police, the duo allegedly demanded ₹8 lakh from Syed Zameer to close a complaint filed against him in connection with a pending Central GST matter.
