From PUBG to India’s gaming spotlight
Seven years ago, convincing her family that gaming could become a career was one of Payal Gaming’s biggest challenges. Today, parents approach her asking how their children can pursue gaming, a change that reflects just how far the industry has come. Payal Dhare, better known as Payal Gaming, has witnessed this transformation first-hand, going from playing PUBG Mobile in the early days of gaming streams to becoming one of India’s recognised gaming creators. At the Royal Stag Boom Box event in Hyderabad, she opened up about her journey, meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the growing gaming culture in the city.
How does it feel to come to Hyderabad?
I feel amazing. I love Hyderabad. I have been here multiple times and there have been a lot of gaming meet-ups here. The people are very loving and supportive. There is so much energy, especially with the marfa dance. I absolutely love it. There is so much power in the youth, and the craze for gaming in Hyderabad is totally different.
