In a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district, getting married has become difficult for a reason that has little to do with the wedding itself. Villagers say prospective families turn away after hearing the name of the village, fearing the difficult journey they would have to make to reach it.
The reason is a road that villagers say has remained in poor condition for decades.
