Ensure availability of anti-snake venom, identify high-risk snakebite areas: NHRC to states
NEW DELHI: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed all states to ensure adequate availability of anti-snake venom (ASV) so that snakebite victims receive timely and life-saving treatment without delay.
The NHRC also asked the states to immediately identify any unmapped high-risk zones and collect empirical data on snakebite incidents.
The Commission stressed that states must ensure adequate healthcare and emergency infrastructure at health facilities in snakebite-prone areas.
