Anatomy of faith: Giant fibreglass sculpture at Mumbai Ganpati pandal promotes organ donation
Mumbai, Sep 16 (PTI) At Mumbai’s popular Ganpati pandal, Lalbaugcha Raja, devotees attention is being caught by a large fibreglass sculpture of multiple human organs, installed by a city hospital to highlight the importance of organ donation, bringing together faith, healthcare and community.
Gleneagles Hospital on Wednesday unveiled the 15.59-metre fibreglass sculpture depicting multiple human organs at the pandal in Lalbaug, central Mumbai, as part of its ‘Organs of Hope’ organ donation awareness initiative.
The initiative, undertaken with the support of Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, aims to take the conversation around organ donation beyond hospital walls and into the heart of the community during the ongoing Ganesh festival, Gleneagles Hospital said in a statement.
