Important that EU listens to India's concerns on CBAM: Finnish minister
Finland's climate minister says cooperation with India can boost clean energy, industrial decarbonisation and circular-economy investment
Sari Multala, Finland’s minister of climate and the environment, is in India to attend the 10th edition of the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar from September 15-18. It is the first time that the WCEF is being held in South Asia. Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) have jointly organised the WCEF in Gandhinagar. On the first day of the event, Finland announced a €120 million investment commitment towards a new Finland-IFC Blended Finance Programme under preparation, with India among its focus countries. In an online Zoom interview from Gandhinagar with Archis Mohan on Thursday, the Finnish minister spoke of how India can benefit from Finland’s efforts to achieve its net-zero targets by 2035.
