A man accused of murdering his pregnant wife is killed in Nizamabad, with police suspecting a revenge motive for the attack.
A 27-year-old man, who was out on bail after being arrested for allegedly murdering his pregnant wife a year earlier, was ambushed and stabbed to death with a coconut-shelling knife by a gang in Nizamabad on Thursday evening. Police suspect the attack to be a pre-planned revenge killing.
The victim, Chittari Haribabu, was attacked at around 5 p.m. at Raja Rajendra crossroad. An officer from the Nizamabad police said that the assailants are yet to be identified and investingation is on to ascertain whether the murder was linked to the death of his wife Vaishnavi, a YouTuber, for which he had earlier been arrested.
Haribabu had been staying with his mother at Indrapur, under the limits of Nizamabad’s V Town Police Station, for the past few days. The two were making a living by selling maize bags at the crossroad.
