Pizza lovers, there is a new city to add to the pilgrimage list. And no, it is not Naples. The 50 Top Pizza World Awards 2026 has crowned Napoli on the Road in London as the world’s best pizzeria, putting a London address ahead of some of the biggest names in Italy, New York and beyond.
The win was announced in Naples itself, the city that invented pizza, making the moment even sweeter for founder and chef Michele Pascarella. And this is not just a popularity contest based on how many people posted a pizza pull on Instagram. The 2026 ranking was based on visits by almost 1,000 anonymous inspectors. Each restaurant was visited twice and assessed on its pizza, ingredients, service and hospitality.
