Sourav Ganguly Biopic Filming Cited In Leicestershire Pitch Controversy
A Bollywood filming event at Grace Road was cited as a factor behind a substandard track.
The pitch curator at Leicestershire’s home ground has said that an ‘unscheduled’ Bollywood film was shot at the venue four days before the start of the match against Glamorgan and hence he was not allowed to work on the track, as a result of which the pitch was poor and cost Leicestershire a spot in County Championship Division One.
But the curator’s explanation couldn’t convince the disciplinary panel, which imposed a hefty 27-point penalty on the county club for breaching pitch regulations.
