The Mumbai-based working mother has already bought the flowers, ordered the decorations and budgeted for the prasad. The modaks were meant to be the uncomplicated bit, the sweet, not the financial headache. Last year, she picked up boxes for the family and visiting relatives without giving the price tag much thought. This year, she is doing the maths before she does the ordering.
