Haryana to install cameras at petrol pumps to detect end-of-life vehicles
Haryana will install 775 ANPR cameras at petrol pumps across four NCR districts to detect end-of-life vehicles. The move will support a fuel ban from October and tighten compliance with CAQM air quality rules.
Haryana Transport Minister said 775 ANPR cameras will be installed at petrol pumps across NCR areas of four districts at an estimated cost of Rs 41.74 crore to identify end-of-life vehicles and enforce environmental norms.
Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday said the state will install automated number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras across districts in the National Capital Region to identify end-of-life vehicles and enforce environmental rules. The first phase will cover Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jhajjar.
Vij said 775 ANPR cameras will be installed in these four districts at an estimated cost of Rs 41.74 crore. According to an official statement, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved the proposal.
