4 arrested for pelting stones at officials during anti-encroachment drive in Gurugram
Gurugram, Sep 16 (PTI) Four people were arrested for allegedly pelting stones at police and municipal officials and vandalising government vehicles during an anti-encroachment drive, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, on September 3, an official of the Municipal Corporation Manesar lodged a complaint at Sector-7 IMT Manesar Police Station stating that a municipal corporation team, accompanied by the police force had gone to Shankar Ki Dhani in Bas Kushla village to remove an illegal market.
While the anti-encroachment drive was being carried out, some persons allegedly instigated others and pelted stones at the police and municipal teams. Government vehicles were also vandalised and police as well as municipal personnel sustained injuries, they added.
Police arrested four accused on Tuesday from Bas Kusla village in Gurugram. The accused were identified as Radheshyam, Prakash, Surajpal and Vivek.
“The arrested accused had allegedly pelted stones at the team engaged in removing the illegal encroachment and vandalised government vehicles. We are questioning the accused,” said the spokesperson of Gurugram Police. PTI COR SKY SKY
