A Gujarat woman missing for nearly nine years was reunited with her son in Lucknow after Hazratganj police traced her family. The meeting turned emotional for the family and officers as years of uncertainty ended.

The woman, identified as Ratan Ben, had reached Lucknow after wandering for several years. She was spotted by Hazratganj police, who took her to the police station and began efforts to establish her identity. The police then started tracing her family and finding a way to reconnect her with her loved ones.
A 55-year-old woman from Gujarat, who had been separated from her family for nearly nine years, was reunited with her son in Lucknow after the local police helped trace her family.
During the enquiry, police learnt that Ratan Ben was from Gujarat. The police then contacted their counterparts in Gujarat and shared her photograph to help identify her.
The photograph eventually reached her family. Ratan Ben's son immediately recognised his mother, bringing an end to nearly nine years of uncertainty over her whereabouts.
The son then travelled to Lucknow along with Gujarat Police to meet his mother.
An emotional reunion unfolded inside the Hazratganj police station as the mother and son came face to face after nine long years. The moment they recognised each other, the son broke down in tears. Ratan Ben, too, became emotional, and the two soon embraced, overwhelmed by the moment they had waited years for.
Speaking to the media later, the son said, “I feel very happy today. I have two little children, and they have not seen their grandmother till date.”
The reunion also moved the police personnel present at the station, who became emotional as they watched the mother and son come together after years of separation.
