Delhi logs maximum temperature of 34.5 deg C; cloudy skies likely on Friday
New Delhi, Sep 17 (PTI) Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday, 0.7 degrees above normal, with some parts of the city seeing cloud cover.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted partly cloudy skies for Friday.
Station-wise data showed that Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 32.5 degrees Celsius, 1.4 degrees below normal, while Lodi Road and the Ridge recorded 34 degrees Celsius each, with departures of 1 degree above and 0.1 degree below normal, respectively.
Ayanagar also recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, which was normal for the station.
Delhi woke up to cloudy skies, with the minimum temperature settling at 25.2 degrees Celsius, 0.1 degree above normal.
Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees below normal, while Lodi Road recorded 24.7 degrees Celsius, 0.7 degree above normal.
The Ridge recorded a minimum temperature of 20.6 degrees Celsius, 3.6 degrees below normal, while Ayanagar recorded 24.8 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degree above normal.
The relative humidity was recorded at 71 per cent at 7 pm.
Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 107 at 6 pm, placing it in the “moderate” category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
